Old-World design incorporates the use of rustic woods, antique finishes, paints and glazes. Decorative corbels, cabinet feet and posts as well as heavy mouldings are discernible in Old-World design. Mismatched pieces such as an island in different finish and style than the main kitchen, a hutch that is emphasized by an antique wear, are examples of the nineteenth century appeal.
Old-world design is complimented by the use natural elements such
as granite, stone and tumbled marble in backsplash, countertops and accent pieces.
