Management Quality Award
On March 30, 2011 Superior was a finalist for the Management Quality Award at the North Saskatoon Business Association gala dinner. It was a wonderful event with about 500 people in attendance, including a table of Superior folks.
The Management Quality Award is awarded to the NSBA business that recognizes and pursues activities which define, promote and inspire quality values. The Judging Criteria includes:
- A quality focus within the company's long-term
vision.
- Systems in place to measure and ensure quality.
- A focus on promoting and ensuring quality in the workplace through human resource initiatives
- Established methods to improve product and/or service quality and customer satisfaction.
We were nominated based on a local business that had watched us over the past three years as we have progressed in improving our management practices and the implementation of technologies and systems to improve our overall management quality. While we were pleased to be nominated, it was Andrew who primarily submitted our entry.
I was both honored and surprised when we were informed that we had won. It was an unexpected recognition that so much of the work that we have been undertaking over the last three years has been noticed by someone outside of our organization. In my remarks, I expressed my gratitude to our team that had really made the difference and who were responsible for the achievements that the NSBA noticed. I also noted how the City of Saskatoon and NSBA have taken a leadership role in promoting some of those things that often go unnoticed when transforming a company.
It was a great feeling and a very nice award to win. Congratulations to all of our team who made winning that award possible.
