Job title: Customer Support Rep
Started: 2007
Career Path: Sales Assistant > Dealer Sales > Major project > Customer Support
Home Country: Canada
In 2007, I was looking for a career change from being a hairstylist. It was then that I found my fit with Superior Cabinets as a Sales Assistant. In the beginning, the position was challenging. However, the fundamentals of design, colour, balance, shapes and customer relations all remained the same. This position was a great way to start my career at Superior, as I love a challenge and I am a quick learner. With the hands-on training that Superior provided, I was able to expand my knowledge of various computer and design programs.
From Sales Assistant, I went to Junior Design, where I confirmed floor plans for Designers and gained a vast amount of knowledge about Superior's products and interior design. The best part about the Junior Design position was helping our customers create their "dream kitchen."
The next turn in my career lead me to a Dealer Sales position, where I travelled throughout Western Canada to train and support our Dealer Sales network. In 2009, I joined the Portfolio Management Team, a cross-functional team that oversees the development of the entire company's product offering.
At the same time, I was also on the company's Business Transformation Team. My role on this team was to provide a Designer's perspective and act as a communication liaison for the Business Transformation Project, which streamlined our front to back processes.
I am now providing design and Insight system support within our support centre.
