I started with Superior in September of 2001 as a cabinet assembler. I had no previous experience and considered it to be just another job that paid the bills. Through hard work and dedication, I began to learn more and more about different aspects of manufacturing. In return, Superior recognized my efforts and started me on the path to where I am today.
Within a year, I was promoted to Team Leader on the evening shift. I remained in the Team Leader role for some time, and then my personal needs began to change. My wife and I were expecting our first child and I wanted to spend evenings with my new family. Fortunately, the management at Superior fully understood and moved me into a vacant position on the day shift. The company's willingness to take my home life into consideration was very motivating and inspiring to me. It was then I realized that Superior was not only about cabinet construction but also employee satisfaction.
Within the next few years I was promoted to Assembly Manager. This was an excellent opportunity that allowed me to further improve my management skills. Superior provided me with the training I needed to grow in this new role. Over the course of the next few years I held a variety of management roles within the manufacturing sector of the company. Because of the experience I gained in all areas of manufacturing, I was promoted to my current role as Manufacturing Manager.
The culture and diversity of the workforce at Superior is surpassed by none. The engagement of the staff and everyone's willingness to change and grow are the reasons we are leaders in the industry. Again, none of this would be possible without putting our people first and working closely with them to achieve their personal goals and objectives. This is what Superior did for me, and this is why I do my best to provide my employees with the same opportunities.
